Privacy

Short version: there are no accounts, your trips stay on your phone, and we don’t sell data.

On your phone

Your trips, checklist, pinned apps, saved plans and hotel address are stored on your device. They’re not uploaded to Amicly, and deleting the app deletes them. On Android, your phone’s own Google backup may keep a copy so a new phone can restore it; you control that in your phone’s settings.

What’s sent when you use a feature

To make or change a plan, the app sends what that feature needs to Amicly’s server. The server doesn’t save your trip. It keeps a finished answer for up to 15 minutes, so a phone that lost its connection gets the same answer back.

  • Planning, re-planning and arrival plans: the destination, dates, times, interests and the other details you enter.
  • Price check: the photo you take or choose.
  • Re-plan with location: your approximate position, only if you choose to use it for that re-plan.

Services that help

  • Anthropic (Claude) writes plans and reads price-check photos.
  • Google Maps Platform checks places and journey times. Only place IDs are kept on your phone.
  • Vercel hosts the app, its server and this website, and keeps standard request logs.
  • Public data services for weather, public holidays, exchange rates, events and travel facts. These receive a city or country, not your details.

Counting free uses and kit requests

The app creates a random install ID on your phone. It’s used to count free uses and to make sure each country request is counted once. Requests are stored against a scrambled (hashed) version of that ID together with the country, and kept for up to a year. No names, emails, locations or trip text are stored with them.

Buying a Trip Pass

In the Android and iPhone apps, the Trip Pass is bought through Google Play or the App Store, which handle your payment. RevenueCat, a service that checks app purchases, records the purchase against your install ID so the app and server know your pass is active. Amicly never sees your card details, name or email.

Partner links

If you open a partner link, such as a hotel or eSIM site, that site’s own privacy policy applies from then on. See the affiliate disclosure.

This website

The website sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics or ads. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser. Links into the app carry tags that show which page they came from, and nothing about you.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent data.
  • Ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.
  • Read your contacts, messages or photos beyond the one you choose for a price check.
